11 th international conferenceon the chemistry and migration behaviour of actinides and fission products in the geosphere.
The MIGRATION conferences provide an international forum for the timely exchange of scientific information on chemical processes controlling the migration behaviour of actinides and fission products in natural aquifer systems. Experimental investigations and predictive modelling of these processes are the main topics of the conferences. The information generated from the MIGRATION conferences is the basis for the mechanistic understanding of the migration behaviour of long-lived radionuclides in the geosphere, which is essential for the long-term performance assessment of nuclear waste disposal.

17th Annual Goldschmidt Conference, Cologne, Germany August 19 - 24, 2007 www.goldschmidt2007.org The Goldschmidt Conference is the premier annual meeting in geochemistry. The 17th annual meeting will be held in August 2007 at the University of Cologne in Germany and will be in association with the Annual Meeting of the German Mineralogical Society. This will be the second German Goldschmidt, after the 1996 meeting in Heidelberg.
The Organising Committee and the International Program Committee have been working on making the scientific content of the meeting the most exciting yet. 16 broad themes have been selected covering the full range of geochemical research, from the formation of the solar system to environmental research, and from biogeochemistry to mineralogy. Details of these themes, and the names of the members of the International Program Committee responsible for them are given on the Symposia page. The committee members will organize several symposia for each of the themes. Suggestions for symposia or ideas for general symposia should be addressed to the IPC members responsible for the relevant theme as soon as possible, or sent to the chair of the IPC (Herbert Palme, herbert.palme at uni-koeln.de).
